My dream was realized! it has been fulfilled hours ago! Ai finally built a complete rig with high end computer components including boastful RAM, Processor, motherboard, vga card and so on and so forth and other important stuffs like the liquified cpu cooler. The important thing here is that I have built my cpu out of hardwork so I think I’ll just drink a coffee tonight and celebrate for my success. Anyway, I need a set memory card, a big one so I can transfer aal my files from my old rig to this new beast. I think I’ll post the specs here soon!

Finally! I have already started buying parts on my future rig. The last Item taht I bought was HEC Cougar 700W power supply last night. I will strive hard to build my personalized computer rig so I can use it soon on my upcoming projects as a Chief Corporate Communications Office ( MarkCom – SBJMA 2009-2010) He-he! Anyways, I promised my graduating sister that I will buy her a laptop before her graduation as a gift so she can use it on her college years. Now I have double the responsibility and double the effort to make money in less than a year. Better take some look at buy.com and maybe I’ll finmd the best deals I could possibly find. Ciao!

Desktop to Laptop

Remember the last time I told here in this blog that I want a Quad Core desktop? Well.. I’ve changed my mind! I want a Laptop, preferably Dell, Toshiba or Sony. The reason? Its because even though desktops are more powerful than laptops, I can’t bring it outside of my home, and since I am mostly away from home I want something that is mobile enough that I can go online wherever and whenever. I will be saving for an Intel Core 2 Duo (Centrino, Sta. Rosa or whatever more powerful) so it can help me on my multimedia projects. Unfortunately, I’ll be spending Php 70,000 for a mid-end to a little high-end laptop but I hope that when the time that I will be buying one, maybe September, The prices will go lower. Anyway, I already have a desktop, why assemble another when I can upgrade to a laptop, come on I’ll be needing seat lifts by that time.

How about doing a major upgrade? I think upgrading computers are a little expensive. Yes of course, even computers you buy today will be outdated the next few months. It is up to you to buy the best deals for you so you will not pity yourself if left behind. For example, your system memory may sound huge today, but wait until six months, you will be surprised of what you will know. However, there are times when we need to upgrade to cope up with our sftwares especially the video editing softwares. They eat a lot of our RAM and we need to feed it with the right one. In any case, Upgrade if you want, I will upgrade when I have my money in my hands. hehe!

Upgrading My Desktop

Since my desktop is out of date, I plan on upgrading it instead of buying a laptop. I am a hardcore desktop user and I think buying a laptop will only come next to upgrading my desktop. I searched the net this morning looking for dealers who sell parts like computer memory or famous for ram. For my processor I plan on trying AMD since it is much cheaper than Intel’s. Anyway.. I also plan on assembling my C.P.U. for parts that I trust. You can never force me to buy a package unless I find it very enticing.

Myth: Cat Fur Destroys a Disk Through Magnet

This myth is about how a magnet can screw four files inside your disk.

A college boy came in to class without homework. The teacher preempts his alibi by saying, ‘Did your dog eat it again?’, Confidently, he retorts, ‘No, my cat sat on my disk, and its fir sent electrostatic charges to wipe out my book report.’

Here is the explanation:

Studies show that it can happen, but the chances of cat fur doing this to disks is as low as your cat sitting on your disk. But it is also true that magnets pose a more viable threat. This is true for old-school floppy disks and hard drives as they have magnetic components. Exposure to a strong enough magnetic field would definitely affect the orientation of the magnets inside.

Solution:

The good news is most people or maybe all of us know about a small, carry everywhere flash drives nowadays. As for the magnets, worry not as long as you know where to put your things. It is foolish to put your compact or flash drives inside a pocket with a magnet on it, same goes to your household, magnets can really destroy your files so be careful.
