This was a review made for our Art Appreciation class and I thought of posting it here. This is dedicated for students who are looking for a review on the above mentioned film.Shakespeare in Love
The movie is filled with meaningful scenes which include the life of Shakespeare and the world he is living in. This particular era, when stage plays are still on its time the life of great stage writers are much livelier. Shakespeare was seen here writing about Romeo and Ethel but it was shown that The Idea of Romeo is still not written. Though he has an idea on what to write about the part of Romeo, he still hasn’t found the reason to write it. He found a love affair here when Viola, daughter of a mercenary was about to sell her to someone else as a property. Viola then dressed as a young boy and Shakespeare took a risk in playing along with it. Though it may seem to be an accident, it triggered Shakespeare and Viola’s love affair. They found each other needing their company and understanding.
The movie symbolizes great creativity and it was indeed a masterpiece. The story itself is made to be understandable for most viewers. The main point here is love and deception and along with it is a comedy of tragedy without trying so hard to give the meaning of love and comedy, it was all so natural. The actors in the movie are well suited for their role which indicated that the movie was well planned and organized.
In any form of art, whether it is a form of painting, novel or sculpture, there are always stories behind them. Even the costumes they used in the production relates to the time of the story. This art form is educational and can put minds at work in figuring out the true meaning of love and the sacrifices to do for it. Love can trigger us to do great things.
