Saying nicknames are for friends or a group of close friends. It’s very awkward and annoying when someone says your name, your nickname like they’ve been your friend since you were born. And then calling you like you are best buds with that person and yet you’ve only met him just yesterday. It’s more proper saying your name like a professor, like richard willich. It’s more appropriate than pretending.
